PREFACE

观澜版画原创产业基地自2008年开始运营，积极推动当代中国版画艺术事业的发展和国际版画艺术的交流。作为版画基地重要组成部分，中国版画博物馆自2014年建成运营，坚持高端引领和国际化的办展理念，注重版画展览活动高品质的艺术性和学术性，致力于中国版画发展脉络的学术梳理，为国内外版画艺术提供了一个高端的展示交流平台，并把观念前卫、彰显创意和个性的青年版画作为学术研究的主要方向之一。自2011年首届中国青年版画展举办，经过5届的努力，逐渐成为中国青年版画重要的学术交流平台。2021年恰逢中国青年版画展十周年，此次展览由策展人康剑飞先生悉心策展，共收到515位青年艺术家提交的作品近3000件，展览组委会邀请专家组成评委会，经线上投票，每位艺术家挑选一幅作品参展，最终共计252件青年版画家的佳作入选此届展览。

Since the Guanlan Original Printmaking Base was officially put into service in 2008, it has actively promoted the development of contemporary Chinese printmaking and the exchanges of international printmaking. As an important part of the Base, the China Printmaking Museum has been established and operated since 2014. It adheres to the international and high-end leading curating concepts. It pays attention to the high-quality artistic and academic nature of printmaking exhibitions, and is committed to the academic research of the development of Chinese printmaking. It has provided a high-end exchange platform for printmaking both domestically and abroad, as well as setting the main directions of academic research towards printmaking made by young artists with avant-garde concepts, creativity and individuality. Starting from the 1st China Youth Prints Exhibition held in 2011, after 5 years of hard work, it has gradually become an important scholarly communication platform for Chinese young printmakers. The year of 2021 is also the tenth anniversary of the China Youth Prints Exhibition. The exhibition this year is elaborately designed by the curator, Mr. Kang Jianfei. We have received nearly 3,000 works submitted by 515 young artists. The exhibition organizing committee invited experts to form a jury. By voting, a total number of 252 young printmakers are selected to join the exhibition and each artist provides one work to be displayed.

第六届中国青年版画展由中国版画博物馆主办，中国版画博物馆常设有中国·观澜国际版画双年展、中国版画大展、中国青年版画展三个高品位、学术性展览。观澜国际版画双年展本着开放包容、多元并存的精神，自2007年首届双年展成功举办，已成为目前国际上参与国家数、艺术家数和原作收件数最多、展览规模最大的国际性版画展览，双年展立足于办展的规范性和国际性，旨在打造国际化的版画交流平台，促进国际版画的交流和发展。中国版画大展注重中国当代版画发展的学术性，是奠定本馆的学术基础的重要举措，因此中国版画博物馆于2014年开馆庆典之际隆重举办首届中国版画大展，从而促使中国版画开始了在中国版画博物馆专业平台上精彩纷呈的时代。中国青年版画展则专注于打造当代中国青年版画家们同台竞技、彰显个性、推崇创意精神的高端平台。在这个平台上涌现出一批又一批杰出的版画新锐，他们的版画体现出中国青年艺术家的艺术性、学术性和前卫性。青年版画展作为梳理中国青年版画艺术的专项展览，又与观澜国际版画双年展、中国版画大展在学术上形成一个比照、呼应和互补的关系，共同推进中国乃至国际版画的发展。

The 6th China Youth Prints Exhibition is sponsored by the China Printmaking Museum. The China Printmaking Museum has three high-level permanent academic exhibitions including the China Guanlan International Print Biennial, the Chinese Printmaking Exhibition and the China Youth Prints Exhibition. The Guanlan International Print Biennial is based on the principle of openness, inclusion and diversity. Since the first Biennial held in 2007, it has become the largest international printmaking exhibition with the greatest number of participating artists, countries and pieces of original works and the largest exhibition scale. The Biennial focuses on the normativity and internationality which aims to create a platform for promoting the communication and development of printmaking. Correspondingly, the Chinese Printmaking Exhibition concentrates on the academic nature of contemporary Chinese printmaking, which is an important academic foundation of the Museum. Therefore, the China Printmaking Museum grandly held the 1st Chinese Printmaking Exhibition when the Museum officially opened to the public in 2014. This is regarded as the beginning of a splendid era in which Chinese printmaking is being promoted on a professional museum level. The China Youth Prints Exhibition aims at creating a high-end platform for Chinese young printmakers to express individuality, inspire creativity and compete with other artists on the same stage. A great number of outstanding and cutting-edge printmakers have emerged on this platform. Their prints embody the artistic, academic and avant-garde nature of Chinese young artists. As a special exhibition to organize and understand the art of Chinese youth printmaking, the Youth Prints Exhibition has formed an academically comparable, echoed and complementary relationship with the Guanlan International Print Biennial and the Chinese Printmaking Exhibition to jointly promote both Chinese and international printmaking.

早在1919年的中国“五四”青年爱国主义运动波及中国思想文化、政治发展方向、社会思潮和国民教育。同时这场青年爱国主义运动也传播了共产主义思想，对中国共产党的建立和发展起到了至关重要的作用。中国共产党建党百年的三大阶段分别是“站起来”、“富起来”和“强起来”，梁启超说：“少年强则国强”，因此中国的未来在于青年。中国青年版画展在“强起来”上体现出两个方面的青春力量。一是青年版画艺术自身的生命力，中国青年版画本着强大的专业精神在国际上展示出高超的技艺和锐不可当的进步力量，我们可以从国际各大版画展览中看到，以青年版画为主力军的当代中国版画在国际上呈现出无限生机。二是当代中国青年的青春力量，今年恰逢中国共产党建党100周年，在中国共产党百年奋斗的伟大实践之中，版画是最具革命精神的画种，不同时代的青年版画家都激情满怀完成着各自的时代使命，使中国版画一直以来紧随时代的步伐，与国家、民族的命运同在，中国版画青年继往开来，是中国青年一代最具爱国情怀的代表，在中国共产党带领中国走向繁荣富强之际，当代优秀青年版画作品的集中展示，也是中国青年版画家献给党和祖国最好的礼物和美好祝愿。

As early as in 1919, the "May Fourth Movement" of patriotism in China has influenced the development of Chinese culture, social ideological trend, political development and national education. Meanwhile, this patriotism movement also spread communist ideology and played a vital role in the establishment and development of the Communist Party of China. In the past century, the three major stages of the Chinese Communist Party’s history are "standing up," "getting rich," and "getting strong." Liang Qichao once said that, "Strong youths lead to a strong country." China's future relies on its youth. The Chinese Youth Prints Exhibition embodies the spirit of the youth in two aspects. The first aspect is the energy of the youth printmaking. Chinese young printmakers have demonstrated their excellent skills and continuous progress to the world along with their professional attitude. Artworks of young printmakers has become the main force in major international printmaking exhibitions and has demonstrated infinite vitality. The second aspect is the youth power of Chinese young people. This year is the centenary of the Communist Party of China. In the great practice of the Communist Party of China for a hundred years, printmaking is the most revolutionary type of art. Young printmakers from different eras have completed their respective mission of the times with great passion. Chinese printmaking has been keeping its pace with the times and being with the destiny of the nation. The young Chinese printmaker represents the group of people who have the most patriotic sentiments for the country in the young generation. As the Communist Party of China leads the country towards prosperity, this exhibition of printmaking from contemporary outstanding young printmakers is also the best gift and sincere wishes for the Party and the motherland.

从首届中国青年版画展举办至今已过十年，回顾过去的十年，青年版画展在各方的厚爱和支持下，展示出旺盛的青春活力，成长为中国版画界的重要版画展览之一。但愿我们能不负各方的厚爱和中国青春的力量，在接下来的十年之中创新进取，为中国青年艺术家梦想的起飞助跑，为推动中国版画发展和文化交流作出新的贡献。

It has been ten years since the first China Youth Prints Exhibition was held. Looking back through the past ten years, the Youth Prints Exhibition, with your love and support, has shown enormous energy and vitality and grown into one of the most important printmaking exhibitions in China. I hope that we can live up to the love and expectations from all of you, to keep innovating and forging ahead in the next ten years, to help young Chinese artists take off their dreams, and to make new contributions to the development of Chinese printmaking and cultural exchanges.
